The Utah Education Network site is an awesome site that is my new favorite. Just click on a top or go to a grade level. You will be shocked at the variety of trips that you will see. If you register as a Utah User, you can even use this site, for FREE, to complete your own virtual field trip.

The LDS Homeschooling in California site is a very user friendly site. It breaks them apart on the first page into regional, factory tours, museums, nature, science, web cams and much more. This has things for all grade levels.

Social Studies Virtual Trips

There are so many places to visit when studying social studies. Here are a few of my favorites...

This site from National Geographic takes you on a trip as if you are a slave making choices on your way towards freedom. It has songs going in the background to make it realistic and creates an impact on the students and teachers.

The White House site is getting really good about putting new pics up all the time. I like that they post pictures that show the behind the scenes with the White House staff.

This is an interesting look at Washington's House, Mount Vernon. This site will get you to the textual part. If you scroll down on the left, you will see where you can got to the virtual tour. It is totally worth any download time you may have to do!

All kids love to talk about money. The U.S. Mint site allows you to show them a brief history of how money has changed and show them where it comes from now. This is a very easy site to navigate.

A great tech teacher to follow...

This is a link to Lori Elliott from Missouri. She was a presenter last spring at the Illinois 2nd grade Teachers Conference in Chicago. She has great ideas and is always posting fun things! You have to check her blog out.
